Also, a lot of people simply don't have access to 3 phase. All of that said, the HF mini mill is still the absolute bottom of the bucket. If you can afford to go up a step, look at the 25 size bench top mills like the G0704 or the PM25. I have a G0704 and used it manually for a year before converting it to CNC.
