About a year or two ago, before pof came out, i found a web page that has routes and spots for any material on all maps that you wish to farm. Using a core thief (without a mount), and gathering only soft,hard wood, iron and platinum ore, i managed to get about 19/20 gold (after tp tax) in total.
Platinum Ore is used in level 225 Armorsmith, Artificer, Huntsman, Jeweler and Weaponsmith recipes. Gold Ore is used in level 200 Artificer and level 150 Jeweler recipes.
